Can I solder by add adapter 12v power on speaker that was plugged to monitor only.?
I have a speaker made by Dell it was input to monitor. I had upgrade new monitor and somehow there is no output on monitor for speaker. I took apart off back of speaker and I thought I could do solder by add adapter power input wires on this as long as it is 12v 1500mA…will it make sound work or it have to be plug in monitor only?
No, don’t do anything with the speaker and the monitor. Don’t take this wrong, but it’s clear that you are not knowledgeable in electronics. Speakers do not run off the voltage like you mentioned (12v 1500mA). Speakers run off of the audio signal voltage from the sound source. If you hook up the power like you mentioned to a speaker you’ll just fry the speaker and probably the power source and possibly start a fire. Only amplified speaker systems would require DC power like you mentioned to run the amps, but monitor speakers would not need that.
Your laptop needs a special auto adapter to acquire power from the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket (aka. auto plug outlet) so it can charge the laptop battery in the vehicle.
