my employer wants me to tell the DVLA of binge drinking when i am off work with depression. why should i ?
my doctor says i don’t need to inform the DVLA as i don’t drink and drive and i have never been to work under the influence of alcohol. they have no evidence whatsoever of me slurring, having accidents, staggering or anything to do with alcohol when at work. what has my car license got to do with work when i don’t drive their fork lift trucks on the highway. I have even bought an alcohol breath tester and asked them to test me at any time and as often as they like but they are not interested. Help- – - i may lose my job over this
binge drinking when i am off work with depression.
If they are paying you when you are off “sick” they have every right to be annoyed but you have no legal obligation to take the advice given.

If you’re pulled over for a breath alcohol test, all the folklore and breathalyzer myths you have heard won’t be of any help if you blow above the legal limit.
