Is it okay if i run my pc all 24 hrs a day to record my cctv camera?
i want to record my cctv camera via pc is there any disadvantages i i keep my pc running all that time or can i do anything to cut the some electricity like put it on sleep etc.
Long term its probably not the best to leave it running. (it well shorten the life of the computer). But there probably isn’t a way around this, sense you want the camera to run all the time.
The other option is to build/buy a small computer that you CAN leave on all the time, that is different then your home computer (that I assume has all your important information on it).
Then you would just network the two computers together so you can pull the files over and what not.
