Security Camera – No Video to Monitor?
I have a TOA C-CV24-2 mini dome camera. The camera Powers on but i get no video. Here is how i set it up.
1. The Camera has a BNC output. I have a BNC Connector (running on COAX) on the camera, and the other end of that cable is terminated as regular COAX like you get from the Cable Company to connect from the cable box to the CABLE/Antenna connector of a TV.
2. I am not seeing any picture on the tv, i actually see a picture but it took me 3 days to realize there was picture bc it was almost not visible, as if it werent working.
My question is: does this camera require a DVR to work, or does anyone have any cheap suggestions of how i can make this work. The plan is to connect the camera to a COAX splitter to see the picture on 2 TV’s in the location.

i have called the company and they suggested that the issue is because i need a digital signal and that tv is not digital, please help.

Hello, Going direct to a F connector ( like cable connection ) on the back of the tv will not work the impedance is wrong. You need an RCA ( the red,yellow white plugs) to connect directly to a TV. You can get an adapter at most electronic places.
So it may work for you to get a converter / adapter to RCA and then set the TV input and you will see the picture on the TV use a y splitter on the end to go to 2 locations. You can also get a BNC to RCA and change the F connector(screw plug) to bnc on both ends of your cable. Long distance cables, like over 100 feet may require boosters to get the signal to come through.
OR
you can get whats called an rf modulator this will change the signal from the camera to allow for direct connection to a TV F connector. This type of unit is used in many apt buildings so every resident can see the camera from the front door. A modulator usually uses a extra or empty cable channel.
