Fps in WoW with ATI Radeon X1550 Pci?
I am currently running a dimension 3000 with 1 gig of ram, p4 2.8 ghz processor, and a ati radeon x1550 pci. I have been getting close to 8 fps when there are a lot of people around me. Is there anyway to boost my fps?
Do you have any add-ons/mods running? If you hover over the latency bar, it should tell you what’s running and how many MBs they’re taking up, too.
If you’re running Vista, there’s an option to run WoW as an admin through the properties window when you right-click on the WoW.exe file. You can set it up to run as it would with XP through this window.
Could be other programs running the background as well, anti-virus software, that kinda thing. Go through your Task Manager and end any processes that you know you don’t need running while you’re playing WoW. I don’t run my AV, MOBsync, or Windows desktop. You can do Google or Yahoo! search for each process to find out what they do for your specific OS.
Try lowering your settings, to the minimum if you have to. Go through your video settings and uncheck (disable) anything that states that it “may effect game-play.” It doesn’t look as good, but at least you can play without ridiculous lag.
