Cisco have long been regarded as innovators in the world of business telecommunications. Their range of IP business phones have a range of potential uses for the typical home office user.
The Cisco 7931G IP phone is recommended for commercial or retail use which receives “moderate” telephone traffic. As such it might only be more suitable for the larger home office operation. It boasts a hard hold function, redial and transfer keys. With 24 lighted incoming line lights, interactive soft keys, illuminated mute and speakerphone keys, this model more than meets the demands of a busy home office.
The Cisco 7940G is seen as an entry level business IP phone, for light to medium use. Nonetheless, its features include hands free speakerphone capability, headset connectivity and a large pixel based display which offers access to caller information, applications and additional features. it also provides access to at least two telephone lines (or a combination of one line and one direct access feature such as AutoDial)
The Cisco Unified IP phone 7942G could well be the choice for the home office where line audio clarity is essential. Life like conversations are possible due to high fidelity wideband audio and the 7942G also supports Low Bitrate Codec (iLBC) for use in lossy networks. Additionally, there is also a high resolution greyscale display for use with Cisco Unified Communications and third party applications.
Cisco IP phone 7960G is aimed more for the needs of multiple workers who experience a high amount of telephone traffic; one perhaps for the expanding home office! The 7960G supports access to multiple telephone lines and includes high quality hands free speakerphone capability and headset connectivity.
The Cisco 7916 phone expansion module is useful for the busy home office environment, for those who need to monitor and manage the status of a variety of calls. The expansion module is designed for use with Cisco unified IP phones 7962G,7965G and phone 7975G and allows the user to determine the status of a number of lines beyond the native number. The 7916 expansion module also sports additional directory buttons and a colour LCD screen.
The wireless IP phone 7921G could be ideal for the home office worker who likes to take his business calls in the garden. The 7921G operates using voice over wireless LAN and boasts wideband voice quality enhancements, so even if you stray that little bit further, you’ll still be heard clearly. A long battery life and speakerphone capability are additional features, as is presence enabling, which allows you to know the location of other parties within a Wi-Fi environment.
The 7925G wireless IP phone is the wireless choice where mobility is needed. The 7925G provides all the features delivered by the 7921G with additional Bluetooth 2.0 support and a rugged, hermetically sealed unit (protecting against dust and liquids). In fact, the 7925G is compliant with military standard 810F and is protected from shock damage by a rugged rubber casing. If your office and the outdoors are one and the same, the 7925G could be the natural choice for you.
