How to Create a Lifespace Vision Board – Insights for Designing your Home or Office! Creating Ambience, Room Theme & Color Scheme
Do you possess inspirational ideas and dreams on how you want your home or office to look and feel but don’t know how to put it into reality? Now your vision can be made manifest by creating a fun, easy and exciting lifespace vision board! Receive step by step instructions on how to plan and organize a visionary concept of your dream interiors. You will be guided in each planning phase from developing a room theme, deciding on a color scheme, coordinating furniture, right down to the details of accessorizing and feng shui your space! There you have it – a total design concept of personal ideas and dreams, organized and displayed on a vision board ready for easy implementation at your very own time and pace. And just think … all that you’ll really need is a vision!
Design Tip: Creating a simple decorating journal for noting ideas, sketching and organizing thoughts will help offer insight along your visionary process.
What is Your Vision? A well thought out design plan begins with a vision. The first phase of planning a vision board is to note the room in your home or office in which you choose to create a dream plan – jot this room down in your journal and title it as “vision plan.” Now that you’ve appointed a room, let’s go into the visionary process – step by step.
Vision Phase 1 – Creating Ambience
Have you ever entered a room and felt a sense of comfort and peace? What was it about this space that evoked such a serene feeling? What you’ve experienced in this space is defined as ambience. The ambience of a room creates human emotional and physiological response. One’s response to it may be either positive or negative. With this factor in mind, it is important to consider how you want to feel in your own personal space; as well as what you would like others to experience who share this space with you. Now let’s take a moment and sense the feel or ambience you desire to create in this room. Visualize yourself entering the room. Imagine the feel that permeates throughout this space – is it bright and spacious, cozy and intimate, warm and inviting, a retreat for mind, body & soul, minimalist and functional, feng shui, etc. It may be that you decide to integrate a combination of feels. In your journal, write a description of the ambience you seek to achieve in your space.
Vision Phase 2 – Room Theme
A theme is a decorating style. Every room should have a theme as it provides a design focus. It is a common denominator that guides you on how to unify other interior elements introduced into your room’s overall design plan. You will see how this works as we move along in the design process. For now, we must define our theme. What design theme do you visualize for this room, i.e. contemporary, traditional, eclectic, art deco, Zen, sacred space, tropical, country, ethnic, rustic, nature, other. Summarize this theme in your journal. You can continue to expand upon the concept with adding specific details as your vision evolves.
Vision Phase 3 – Color Scheme
The element of color denotes the design character of a lifespace and is one that relates to an important factor of human response. Can you reflect back on how colors in a room played upon your emotions? Did the room’s colors exude an aura of inner harmony and balance, a feeling that uplifted your mind, spirit and soul or was there a feeling of emotional unrest? Did you know that color symbolize an emotional characteristic and an element of nature? As an example, the color blue represents peace and tranquility, while it also symbolizes the nature element of water. When considering the emotional peace one experiences as they sit and meditate before a tranquil blue sea - the symbolism evoked by these elements can certainly be appreciated. In planning your room’s color scheme it is beneficial to consider the effects that color lends on the emotions as well as creating inner harmony and balance with elements of nature. If you plan to design around an existing décor, yet desire to create a new ambience, room theme or color scheme; it is important to evaluate whether your new vision is complementary to the furnishings you plan to maintain in your space. Describe your color scheme in your decorating journal.
Design Tip: Select 2 predominate colors for the major elements of your décor, i.e. furniture, floor, wall and window treatment. Select 1-2 accents for minor elements in your room as those of accessories, i.e. pillows, vases, photo frames, area carpets, etc.

I want colored contacts with prescription,(my vision:17/20)Where can i get them and what color should i get?
I have 17/20 vision and i REALLY want color contacts. My eyes are a dark brown but up close, sometimes it looks a like an amber red color mixed with brown.What color should i get and where can i get some?
