How to calculate watts voltage transformer is this necessary?
For this you need to see how many watts your appliances use referring to the rear of the apparatus or manual. If not found, you will see the current consumption (amps) and voltage (V) required by the devices, so the necessary watt amp x V x Power factor (0.8 is the norm) = give you the total wattage appliances. Normally converters Heavy / processors can operate continuously at 17% to 18% capacity power.
A Voltage Converter- Much Necessary while Travelling
Voltage converter is an electrical device that converts voltage from power source to a required form of voltage. There may be sometimes when you travel off shore and find that your electrical devices are not working at all since that country uses other voltage standards. Generally the electrical gadgets are prepared keeping in mind the standard voltage of the country whether it is 110 volt or 220 volt. Both the standards are available. Thus the problem arises. But a voltage converter does not bother with that. You just fix the output voltage and relax. It works as per your direction.
Most of our day to day electrical gadgets like hair dryers, irons, DVDs, laptops, televisions and so on fail to adjust with the abnormal voltage. Thus you have no other alternative than to use a voltage converter either to stabilize the voltage or to de-stabilize it, fix it to the standard output stream. You should not expect that all the countries all over the world maintain same voltage standard. So you have to take the extra overhead of keeping an extra voltage converter along with you whenever you plan to visit other countries. Otherwise you may be deprived of the sweet taste of entertainment.
There are basically two types of voltage converters available, step up and step down. Step up voltage converter is something like a stabilizer which boosts up the energy and converts it into required amount of voltage. At the sometime step down converter cuts down or halves the standard amount of the country and makes it suitable for your gadgets.
Without knowing the standard voltage of the country you can not keep a voltage converter with you. Small gadgets like cell phones, iPods, iPhones or even laptops do need converters with wattage very much similar to 50 watts. But heating products like hair dryers, irons require at least 1600 watt voltage converter. So you can understand that your requirement of converter varies time to time depending upon your favorite gadgets. TVs also consume much voltage and requires a large converter. Recent TV sets own multiple channels so you may choose any one of them to fulfill your requirement.
Not only that the voltage outlets differ from one country to another. So a converter is very essential even if you want to charge your cell phone in the airport. A multi-charger or multi functioning travel adaptor can meet your needs. So finally it can be said, do not forget to keep a voltage converter with you while you are travelling in other countries. At least a travel adaptor can help you to charge your cell phone or music player to entertain you in a foreign country while you are in a relaxing mood.
